Tractor Sunshades

High-Performance Sunshade System

Macauto's tractor sunshade is purpose-built for long-shift operator cabs, with in-house developed multi-layer fabric and mechanisms validated to automotive industry standards. Available in multiple mechanism types: scissor arm, free-stop roller, and dual-roller.
  • In-house engineered fabric - Multi-layer construction, developed and manufactured by Macauto
  • Multi-standard validation - Tested to JIS L 1055, AES D 78365, and EN71, with flame-retardant, UV-stable construction and low-temperature flexibility to -25°C
  • Built around your vehicle - Fabric, mechanism, and mounting developed to specific OEM application requirements

Scissor Arm Type

The scissor arm mechanism uses friction-based control for free-stop positioning at any point in the extension range. A proven, vibration-tested solution for demanding cab environments.
  • Free-stop friction positioning - Continuous adjustment holds securely at any point through cab vibration, with no fixed stops
  • Validated durability - Vibration-tested across X, Y, and Z axes and durability-validated to 3,000 operating cycles with less than 20% performance degradation
  • Customisable fabric - Current example: perforated fabric, 83% light blocking (JIS L 1055) and 23% heat rejection (AES D 78365)

Free-Stop Roller Type

The roller mechanism extends by hand and holds at any position along its travel. Pulling the release cord retracts the shade automatically by spring return.
  • Free-stop positioning - Holds at any point along the travel, not fixed stops
  • Cord-release auto-retract - Pull the cord and the shade retracts automatically by spring return
  • Customisable fabric - Current example: solid blackout fabric, 100% light blocking and 42% heat rejection (AES D 78365)

Dual-Roller Type

The dual-roller configuration pairs two independently operated shades in a single unit: a solid blackout panel and a perforated mesh panel. Each covers its own area of the window and deploys separately, so the operator can blackout one zone against direct sun while keeping mesh visibility in another.
  • Two shades in one unit - Blackout and mesh panels on independent rollers, each controlled separately
  • Zoned shading - Cover different areas of the window with full blockout or mesh visibility as needed
  • Customisable fabric pairing - Blackout and mesh specifications selectable to the application

Materials Science

Engineering Innovation

We develop shading textiles that feature the exact properties required to function & perform correctly in our sunshades. This ability gives us and our customers a competitive advantage.
Well engineered sunshade solutions require textiles that are manufactured consistently to exact specifications. Because we have the capability of producing high quality textiles locally, we can control all the key process variables to safeguard the cost and performance of the finished sunshades.

In-house tooling development

Our customers demand components with an outstanding look and feel and functional characteristics and we are content in meeting their expectations. To this end, we have proven experience in the development and production of in-house made tooling, from injection molds to complete inspection gauges. This enables us to provide customers with expert advice and assistance in then manufacturing of our products. A ‘state of art’ toolmaking shop and our employees’ unrivalled knowledge and skill ensure we guarantee excellent products.

Technical Textiles

We develop shading textiles that feature the exact properties required to function & perform correctly in our sunshades. This ability gives us and our customers a competitive advantage. Well engineered sunshade solutions require textiles that are manufactured consistently to exact specifications. Because we make our opaque multi-layer laminates in-house, we can control all the key process variables to safeguard the quality and performance of the finished sunshades while also taking environmental sustainability into account.
