Macauto and Motherson Sign Joint Venture Agreement to Expand Presence in India’s Automotive Components Market
Macauto Industrial Co., Ltd. (“Macauto”) announced the signing of a joint venture agreement with India-based Samvardhana Motherson International Limited (“SAMIL”) to establish a new company, Motherson Macauto Solutions Limited.
The manufacturing facility is planned to be located in Pune, India, with company incorporation targeted for Q3 2025 and production expected to commence in Q4 2025. Macauto’s investment in the joint venture is estimated to range between USD 2 million and USD 2.35 million.
The joint venture aims to tap into the rapidly growing Indian automotive market, focusing on the development and production of manual and motorized sunshades for window and roof systems, wind deflectors, and other patented components, primarily for passenger and commercial vehicles. Supported by advanced engineering and manufacturing capabilities, the collaboration will deliver high-quality solutions aligned with evolving automotive design trends and performance standards.
Looking ahead, Macauto views this joint venture as a strategic milestone to strengthen its global presence and accelerate its expansion into emerging markets such as India, further enhancing its competitiveness in the global automotive components sector.
